Dead Fish Litter Shores Of Lake Minnetonka | Environment

It was a smelly Memorial Day weekend for some families on Lake Minnetonka.

That's because hundreds of dead fish have washed up along the shore on Crystal Bay.

Neighbors say it happens about once a decade but no one knows what causes the fish to die.

John Ericson, who lives on the lake, told us, "So you go out on a boat and go some place else if the wind was the other way it would be on the other side of the bay and then they would have the same problem."

We're told the D.N.R. is aware of the problem.
